I tried very hard, to let you know,
You had to stay, but you decided to go.
I respect your freedom, I respect your choice,
I can hear you but you can't hear my voice.

So I've decided, and let me make this clear,
When you come back tomorrow I will not be here.
Save me your excuses, 'cuz I've had my fill,
That's all you ever gave me, that's all you ever will.

But if I leave, who will argue with me?
Unearthly quiet where your voice used to be.

I spoke too soon, overrated your crime,
Nobody's perfect except you most the time.
So you don't listen to the words that I say,
My opinion's not important anyway.

They say I need self-esteem, 'cuz things aren't fair,
But you have enough for both of us, plus some to spare.
Manipulation is your skill,
I never loved you of my own free will.

We could get married, have a little girl,
I'd try to protect her from all in this world.
I'd tell her "Don't let my fate happen to you,
So do as I say and not as I do."
